Dust jacket rubbed with some soiling, spine panel toned, 2.5cm deep chip at rear panel's top right corner, front flap retains its original printed price at top corner. Olive cloth with faint mottling, spine's orange and black stamping remains bright. Muted brownish-orange top edge; black endpapers with light white discoloration to front free endpaper. Author's five-line black ink inscription at top of title page somewhat illegible in a tight scrawled cursive with a few words crossed out but appears to be "Ellen + Sam [?] 8/9/75 | Been a pleasure + . . . | . . . + hope we can stay in | touch. | John Keeble." Interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy in a very good- dust jacket. Uncommon first novel by author John Keeble who is best known for his novels "Yellowfish" (1980) and "Broken Ground" (1987). Keeble has taught at Grinnell College, Eastern Washington University, Boise State University, and the University of Alabama.
