This book consists of over 50 letters written by Paul Nash (1889-1946) to his teenage friend and confidante, Mercia Oakley, between 1909 and 1918, made available in this book for the first time. Nash illustrated many of the letters with line drawings, which are reproduced in the book in facsimile. Dating from when Nash started at the Slade School of Art, the letters who Nash growining in artistic confidence, full of ideas and plans.
