The boards have damp staining to top and bottom of the spine with this also affecting two inch triangular areas at the top and bottom corners of the front and rear panels next to the spine. Some discolouration to the boards generally. Tape marks to top and bottom corners of both the front and rear free endpapers. Page 69 is heavily creased with two small nicks in the edge. Pages browned. The jacket has a number of tears to the spine with loss at the top and bottom and two holes near the centre. Chipping to the corners with some loss. Circular stain to the front panel and various patches of discolouration. Jacket and interior illustrations by Mervyn Peake. First printing.
