No, this is the rare first edition itself, published by the Maine Department of Forestry in 1917; 174 p., unmarked and clean except for faint smudge on p. 174 and other smudges on paste-downs and end pages; drawings, wonderful sepia photos, and period ads; fold-out map on fine paper, without creases or tears; back gutter cracked but volume square; maroon boards have gilt lettering, clear and bright on upper front board clear, but faded on lower section and spine where there is much staining. Corners bumped and abrasion at lower edge of stained back board. This lovely and interesting work deserves rebinding.

Hardcover. Etat : Very Good -. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Maroon cloth with gilt titles. Front hinge partially cracked but still quite sound. Traces of paper adhesion between rear paste down and rear flyleaf, very light rubbing at extremities. Primarily concerned with fire control, with associated fire towers and their management and insect and disease control. Of special interest is the 15 by 16 inch onion skin map entitled View from Mt. Kineo Forest Fire Station by A.G. Norcross of fire tower locations with Mt. Kineo at the center. Interesting map in that the subject is round, with a view looking down at Kineo at the center, then a profile of surrounding areas and the mountains and towers in light blue. Map in pristine condition. Contents clean and bright with no marks or inscriptions. PayPal accepted.

Most of the pages are not impacted at all by the dampstaining, previous owner's name on front endpaper. Nicely illustrated, including a fold-out map of Mt Kineo (which has a small edge tear) "A View from Mt Kineo Fire Station". Book.
