I have been listing a series of books about guns and rifles and am now reaching the end of that grouping. Here is one more, however, which I was prompted to list because of what the flap of the dust jacket says, This handsome book, containing approximately 1000 illustrations is the most comprehensive and representative visual reference work on the guns and rifles of the world for the collector, dealer or museum official. Please find then: Guns and Rifles of the World, by Howard L. Blackmore. This very large hard cover book (9 ¼ x 12 inches, 134 pages) was published as a Studio Book by the Viking Press of New York, dated 1965 and I believe it is the First Printing. It is bound in black cloth with elegant gilt titles on the spine and protected by a pictorial dust jacket. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The finish of the dust jacket is a bit scuffed, and it also shows some edge wear, particularly at the top of the spine, none of it too bad. The dust jacket is price-clipped. The hard covers are clean, show some bumping, with a bit of wear to the finish of the lower corners. There are small white spots of unknown origin on the rear boards, nothing too obnoxious. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
