Bedini spent twenty five years at the Smithsonian Institution, serving as curator in the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering in the new Museum of History and Technology (now the National Museum of American History) before serving as first Assistant Director then Deputy Director of the National Museum of History and Technology. He then served as Keeper of Rare Books at the Dibner Library of the History of Science and Technology, a branch of the Smithsonian Institution Libraries, before becoming a Historian Emeritus. Includes references to important figures in this process from Robert Hooke to Benjamin Martins and George Adams. Written by Reginald S. Clay and Thomas H. Court, British scientific historians best known for this work and fellows of the Royal Microscopical Society. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original glassine wrapper is worn with chipping and tearing to the extremities resulting in light loss. A tear to the rear panel resulting in the panel and rear fly leaf to detach from the remainder of the wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
