Comprising four out of the six of Robert Smith Surtees' novels published for this "Jorrocks" edition.Uniformly bound in the original blue decorative cloth.Surtees is best known for creating Mr. Jorrocks, a vulgar but good-natured sporting cockney grocer who features in his novels. Collated, complete. This set contains the following works:'Plain or Ringlets?' - With six pages of advertisements'Ask Mamma or, The Richest Commoner in England' - With two pages of advertisements'Mr. Romford's Hounds''Handley Cross or, Mr. Jorrock's Hunt' - With two pages of advertisements Uniformly bound in the publisher's blue decorative cloth. Externally, with discolouration and wear to the spines, with loss of cloth notable to the heads. Marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with occasional spotting, heaviest to 'Handley Cross'. Contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper verso of 'Handley Cross'. Good Only. book.
