With the reproduced frontispiece from the 1710 edition. A Tale of a Tub was the first major work by Jonathan Swift published anonymously in 1704. Included are 'Battle of the Books' and the 'Discourse Concerning the Mechanical Operation of the Spirit'. Swift also wrote: An Argument Against Abolishing Christianity (1712), Gulliver's Travels (1726), and A Modest Proposal (1729).
