Ajouter au panierPaperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book contains the Parallel Lives - a collection of biographies by the Greek writer Plutarch, written in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. It includes biographies of forty-six Greek and Roman statesmen, from Theseus and Romulus to Demosthenes and Cicero, written in pairs - one Greek and one Roman. Plutarch's aim was to provide moral lessons and examples for his readers, and his biographies are full of anecdotes and observations on human nature. They are also a valuable source of historical information, as Plutarch had access to many documents and records that have since been lost. This book offers insights into the lives of some of the most famous and influential figures of ancient Greece and Rome, examining their strengths, weaknesses, virtues, and vices. The author provides a vivid picture of the political, social, and cultural landscape of the ancient world, making this book appealing to anyone interested in history, biography, or the human condition. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
