The 2/3rd Battalion had an extraordinary wartime history, serving in campaigns across the Middle East, Greece and the Pacific, including Bardia, Tobruk, Greece, Crete, Syria, Kokoda and New Guinea. Published in 1980 by P. M. Fowler in association with the 2/3rd Battalion Association, this substantial 450-page hardcover contains photographs, maps, portraits and detailed historical information relating to the battalion and its members. Of particular interest to military and family-history researchers, the volume includes nominal roll and casualty/award information, together with maps illustrating the battalion's wartime service. CONDITION This copy retains its original illustrated dust jacket, the hardcover book and internal pages present very well for their age. The endpaper maps are present and appear clean and complete. The original dust jacket displays genuine age and use, including edge wear, creasing, small tears/chipping and noticeable surface loss to the lower spine area. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description. The jacket has not been restored or artificially improved.
