Bryan Company of Columbia in 1972. The volume presents biographical accounts of thirty distinguished women associated with Laurens County, South Carolina, documenting their contributions to medicine, education, literature, public service, social welfare, preservation, religion, and civic life. This particular copy is especially notable for the presence of multiple signatures throughout the book, associated directly with the women profiled within, making it an unusual association copy rather than merely an ordinarily signed copy. Among the particularly noteworthy examples is Dr. Anne Austin Young, whose signature, "Dr Anne Austin Young," appears immediately beneath her photographic portrait on page 158 at the beginning of her biographical section.
