His two-volume report in 1822 - 1823 generated considerable controversy, and has been considered as the major issue for the future development of the Australian colonies. The ISBN 0855610271 applies to the 2-volume set: Volume 1: The Oral Evidence [and] Volume 2: The Written Evidence. The editor, Dr John Ritchie, a lecturer in history at the Australian National University (ANU), also wrote a revealing background report about Commissioner Bigge called 'Punishment and Profit' (based on his ANU PhD thesis).
