The author and his wife built the house in the tree, which became famous when Queen Elizabeth II (then Princess Elizabeth) and her husband were staying there when they learned of her father's death, making her the Queen. The hotel is noted for being patronized by many of the rich and famous, some of whom are pictured in this book. With 12 photographic illustrations including one showing Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mother and Colonel Jarman, whose signature is on the laid in menu.…
