Rare ephemera (17 résultats)

Hardcover. Etat : Near Fine. A RARE example of Motoring Ephemera. These special coins were struck to commemorate historical cars, ranging from an 1886 Benz 3 Wheeler to the 1970 Lamborghini 'Miura'. Altogether there are 20 medallions, all the same size, and they are inset into a full colour printed board. In the centre is a full colour photograph of a Bentley sports car. The heavy board is a little worn at the edges, but this is ideal for a frame and any defects would then disappear under the frame rebate. This is a very scarce item indeed. Soft cover. Etat : Fine. 2nd Edition. A rare example of ephemera, and one that has great usage; it is a 'Style Book' for editorial staff at the BBC, and as such it lays out the various textual recommendations for writers which were current at that time. It is interesting to see which words or subjects were being singled out at that time. Spiral bound, with stiff card covers, this is a well printed and almost mint copy of a book that will interest anyone working in the English language. A very rare example of a scholarly work not intended for commercial distribution, and hard to find in this virtually unused condition. A heavy and large full colour catalogue from Superstock, intended for art buyers and art directors. Soft cover. Etat : Very Good. This is a scarce booklet, and it was undated, but I assume it to be during the Second World War. A charming collectable, and of interest to anyone regarding social history or the habits and concerns of the recent past. It is well worn and tatty, but it is also extremely rare, hence the price.…

Soft cover. Etat : Fine. Splendid Oddbins wine list illustrated by the great Ralph Steadman. Near perfect condition. Obviously this has been well looked after, and it contains some fragrant examples of vintage Steadman.

Soft cover. Etat : Very Good. EXTREMELY RARE ROYAL EPHEMERA. A small scale book that depicts, in brilliant chromo-lithography, all of Queen Victorias palaces. Historical notes on the buildings make this a fascinating collectable, with Tennysons 'To The Queen' occupying the centre spread. This is now a rare booklet, as many were broken up to be framed individually. Although small in scale, this tiny book somehow punches above its weight. There are some ancient tape marks on the inside cover edges, and a useful dated inscription that has all the elegance of an age that expected good penmanship. It is dated 1894. There is no date on the book itself, but it can be safely assumed to have been published around that time. I have tried to show as clearly as possible the damage to the front cover. But this is not about damage; this is all about RARITY. Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng.…

Soft cover. Etat : Fine. A remarkable and rare surviving example of this lavish print production. This showcases the work of artists and photgraphers, and, like most ephemera, it got thrown away after it was looked at a few times. A large format full colour production on high quality art paper. Beautifully designed and produced, and in a first class collectable condition. Superb! Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng. …

Soft cover. Etat : Fine. Special Edition. This is particularly rare for the simple reason that many copies were unintentionally damaged because of the construction. This beautiful thin cream card outer has a pull out drawer, which is designed to only partly come out. A flap at the pull out end releases the collection of large cards, loosely contained. Many people thought you had to pull the drawer fully out, and in doing so you will tear the structure apart. This one has survived intact simply because it has never been damaged in this way. To any purchaser of this - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ONLY EXTEND THE DRAWER TO ITS NATURAL EXTENT! Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng.…

Soft cover. Etat : Very Good. Exceedingly rare ephemera, of great interest to any L.A. fan. This is a 50 page brochure, neatly repaired at the spine and with no damage to anything 'live'. The pages are stapled and firm, nothing missing. It has a truly outstanding artwork cover, front and back, in full colour, and very much in the 1920s style. Inside are articles on the County, and many photographs. Articles on several aspects of life in the area cover the climate, business, leisure, and agriculture. I doubt there are many of these fascinating publications in existence. A RARE COLLECTIBLE. Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng.…

Soft cover. Etat : Fine. Limited Edition. Still in its original quilted silver padded envelope, this is an example of an exclusive magazine produced for Lamborghini owners exclusively, and therefore it qualifies as a limited edition. It is a large format heavy magazine with wonderful inside stories about the brand, and heaps of photographs. A rare chance for the motoring fan to add this exclusive item to their collection. Like new, and possibly never read. It comes with a letter to - presumably - one of the owners. Much sought after, these really are rare collectables. Advertising or propaganda flyer to commemorate the first anniversary in 1949 of the establishment of Soviet-North Korean friendship in 1948, 14.5 x 19.5cm, text in Korean. Flyer in very good condition, colours bright and crisp. The flyer refers to a 1949 state-sponsored celebration to mark the first year anniversary of formal diplomatic relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) and the Soviet Union, thereby showcasing Soviet support for Kim Il Sung's regime. In 1949 it was planned that a Friendship Tower would be built to honour Soviet soldiers who liberated Korea from Japanese occupation in 1945, and such a tower already appears behind the family to the right, typical of Soviet commemorative architecture topped with a red star. This tower wouldn't be built until 1959, but resembles the tower in this image. Dressed in national costume, a Korean family is gazing toward an idealised tower along left margin resembling Spasskaya or 'Saviour' Tower overlooking Red Square in the Kremlin. A heavenly tower symbolic of North Korea's idealised future progress through co-operation with the Soviet Union. The little girl enthusiastically waves a Soviet flag, and the family with their North Korean flag is placed in an idealised landscape where agriculture flourishes, electricity is abundant and industrialisation is developing apace.…
