Closed, the black, white and red card shows an orderly still life of children's shoes, a rattler and comfort food receptacles (for pickles, syrup). Open the card and we see an overwhelmed, dispirited father cooking for his brood of unruly if doting toddlers. The moral seems to be that the man should not have banished his wife who would have been able to keep the home running properly. Light soiling around the edges.

Closed, the black, white and red card shows a dapper flaneur or boulevadier, with a top hat, monocle, cane, snappy cane and with a cigarette dangling from his lips as he walks by a cigar store. Open we see a mastiff, same top hat on his head, chained while a small cat serenely gazes at the tethered rival. The point is the contrast between image, self and otherwise, at home and abroad, a dichotomy experienced by many a hapless man. Light soiling around the edges.
