Second impression of the first Deluxe edition, with the number-string sequence: 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 on the printer's page. This was the first of the novels to be published in this edition, and the first impression of just 1,000 copies had printing errors, so this second impression was produced shortly after. ***Very good in green cloth-covered boards, with gilt titles to the spine and front board, with colour illustration in a gold-bordered panel on the front board. The boards show some marks commensurate with age and handling, and show some rubbing at the edges, but are generally clean. The top and tail of the spine is slightly creased. Corners sharp. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. Page block edges gilt. Internally near fine, with no inscriptions. With the integral reading ribbon, slightly frayed at the end. Pages clean with no foxing. No creases or tears. Despite being a so-called Deluxe edition, the paper stock used was quite poor and has tanned with age. No dustwrappers were produced for the Deluxe series. ***317 pages. 242mm x 157mm. ***A second impression of the First Deluxe edition of the third book in the Harry Potter series. Early impressions are hard to find now. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc.

Ajouter au panierFirst editions of the deluxe edition of each book in Rowling's Harry Potter series. Octavo, 7 volumes, original decorative cloth as issued with gilt titles and pictorial onlay to the front panel, all edges gilt, ribbon bound in. Boldly signed by J.K. Rowling on the half-title page in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. In fine condition. No dust jackets were issued for these volumes. Scarce and desirable. Since the release of the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, on 26 June 1997, the books have found immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide. The books have sold more than 500 million copies worldwide, making them the best-selling book series in history, and have been translated into seventy-three languages. The last four books consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history, with the final installment selling roughly eleven million copies in the United States within twenty-four hours of its release. The Harry Potter series has been recognized by a host of awards since the initial publication of Philosopher's Stone including four Whitaker Platinum Book Awards (all of which were awarded in 2001), three Nestlà Smarties Book Prizes (1997â"1999),[109] two Scottish Arts Council Book Awards (1999 and 2001), the inaugural Whitbread children's book of the year award (1999), the WHSmith book of the year (2006), among others. In 2000, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Novel, and in 2001, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire won said award. Honors include a commendation for the Carnegie Medal (1997), a short listing for the Guardian Children's Award (1998), and numerous listings on the notable books, editors' Choices, and best books lists of the American Library Association, The New York Times, Chicago Public Library, and Publishers Weekly. Also the basis for the eight fantasy films, beginning with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) and culminating with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows â" Part 2 (2011). The series was mainly produced by David Heyman, and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson as the three leading characters: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger.

Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Near Fine. 1st Edition. First edition, first printing of the deluxe edition of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," signed by J.K. Rowling on the dedication page. This copy was signed in August 1999 for David R. McMillan from Dunblane, Scotland. McMillan, intimately associated with Rowling through publicity work, had the privilege of meeting her several times. An original letter detailing his association with Rowling is included with the book. The DELUXE edition of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" was released on July 8, 1999, simultaneously with the trade edition, marking the first installment published by Bloomsbury as a collector's edition. The print run for the initial release is unknown, but it is exceptionally limited. In September 1999, Deluxe editions of the first two volumes followed with a larger print run. All subsequent volumes were released concurrently with the trade edition. Due to its extremely restricted availability, the first print run of this title is the most valuable in the series. This holds true for authentically signed copies, which are exceedingly rare. This particular copy was signed shortly after its release, with only a handful of such signed copies in existence. The book is bound in the publisher's original green cloth and appears unread. The condition is near fine. Handling has caused some slight (hardly noticeable) fading at a few points on the edges of the green cloth, but the boards are without any wear. Minor bumped lower spine end, sharp upper spine end and sharp corners. The green endpapers are unmarked, the pages are clean with very mild toning as usual. The gilded bookends have a few minor marks but still look very good. Overall, a very attractive copy of an exceedingly scarce signed book, housed in a beautiful custom-made half-leather clamshell box. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) from Adam Houston (TheHarryPotterSpecialist), the world's sole J.K. Rowling signature expert and a collector's card that provides additional information. Signed by Author(s).

Ajouter au panier[Fantasy] ALL FIRST EDITIONS, FIRST PRINTINGS, IN DELUXE BINDINGS, with the three supplemental works. Together ten volumes, octavo (26 x 17 x 36cm). Original uniform harlequin cloth (7 vols), with gilt decoration, illustrations to upper covers, and all edges gilt (some in shrinkwrap). Additional volumes (3 vols) in publisher's illustrated covers, housed in a bespoke cloth-covered clamshell box lettered in gilt to spine in type uniform with that used for the individual books. Volumes V and VI in shrink-wrap, as-new; others show just light general handling. Near fine, attractively presented. The deluxe issue is a larger format, in decorative cloth binding. Harry Potter's award-winning wizarding adventures have had an unrivalled impact in popular culture today; indeed, some experts have referred to adults between the ages of roughly 20-30 years old as 'the Harry Potter generation', who are seen to hold markedly different values to their parents. Harry Potter is a series of many genres, including fantasy, bildungsroman, and the British school story (which includes elements of mystery, thriller, adventure, and romance). According to Rowling, the main theme of the books is death although prejudice, corruption, and madness can be seen as dominant motifs.
